Indonesia
Thousands of islands & flavors.
Indonesia is blessed with the most diverse landscape, from fertile rice lands on Java and Bali to the luxuriant rainforests of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi, to the savannah grasslands of the Nusatenggara islands and the snow-capped peaks of West Papua.
Brilliant Flavours
Indonesia has around 5,350 traditional recipes, with 30 of them considered the most important. Indonesia’s cuisine may include rice, noodle and soup dishes in modest local eateries to street-side snacks and top-dollar plates.
Serenity in Bali
Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful, deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth.
Impressive Wildlife
Orangutans in the wild are a wonder to behold. Bornean orangutans live on the island of Borneo and their slightly longer-haired, paler cousins, the Sumatran Orangutan, on the island of Sumatra.
Unique Culture
The art and culture of Indonesia has been shaped around its hundreds of ethnic groups, each with cultural differences that have shifted over the centuries. Modern Indonesian culture is a fusion of cultural aspects from Arabic, Chinese, Malay and European sources.
